Project Number: North Branch Bassett Creek Project
Project construction started in the fall of 2012 and was completed by the fall of 2013.
The cost of this project was estimated to be $834,900 of which $419,500 was to be funded from the BCWMC's Capital Improvement Program Closed Project Account and $415,400 was to be funded by the BCWMC's 2010 ad valorem tax levy collected via Hennepin County in 2011. The final cost of the project was $713,240.29, and the BCWMC completed reimbursement to the City of Crystal in December 2013 for project costs.
The BCWMC, in cooperation with the City of Crystal, constructed the North Branch Bassett Creek Restoration Project to stabilize and restore streambanks along this reach of the creek. The project improved water quality by reducing the amount of sediment entering the creek from erosion. The project included repairing actively eroding stream bank sites and installing measures to protect existing stream banks from future erosion.
